Lunch and drinks with Alan

I got up and logged onto Facebook. My friend Alan sent me a message asking what I was up to and if I fancied coffee.

We met up for lunch at Taurus and had a chat over some very good food. He's finding the breakup with his ex very tough and hasn't been sleeping or eating well. I got him laughing and talking about all kinds of silly stuff. We went though quite a lot of beer and a bottle of red wine. I told him about the strange co-incidence of bumping into Tim all over the place and he told me about the kind of things that can happen in post office queues with handsome doctors or at The Cornerhouse Cinema with Bosnian soldiers.

The waiter was very cute but however hard I tried to flirt with him he didn't seem to notice. We left.

It was BITTERLY cold outside so we scurried to Via Fossa. Once in there we met up with a friend of his who had another friend in tow who Alan took a liking to. We all chatted and had quite a nice time. I got some guy thrown out because he kept pestering us and another group of people to see if anyone wanted to buy coke off him.

Then Alan decided it was time to head home and so I wandered about a bit but it was too cold to be outside and the bars were all dead so I made my merry way back home on the bus. I got a text from Alan thanking me for cheering him up, which was nice.

I sat and watched rubbish TV for a bit and then went to bed. Spirit was being very needy so I let him sleep on the bed for the first time in years.
